The past few years have been extraordinary years for community associations. Covid remained a large factor in everyone's lives, remote meetings continued, and some important court decisions that affect community associations were passed down. Attorneys Tim Sellers and Steve Sellers discussed real court cases throughout this presentation, how the outcomes of these cases set precedent for future cases and the importance of truly understanding your governing documents and state statutes. Both North and South Carolina cases were covered in this webinar.

NOTE: On Friday, June 17th, 2022, Attorney Steve Sellers informed us that one of the cases discussed in the webinar was overturned by the NC Supreme Court, thereby making that part of the presentation irrelevant. That case is the Farwig case which was about NC solar panels. As you can see, these things move quickly and it is difficult to determine when a court decision may be overturned.

Steve Sellers will be providing a legal update in the coming days and we will add that information to this post.

If you have questions about any of the material presented in this presentation or the changes resulting from the overturned Farwig case, please reach out to your CAMS Community Manager for Trusted Guidance.
